The pictures are RECON PICTURES INCLUDE (3) of NORMANDY BEACH (Taken for Assault Planning) & (1) of OMAHA BEACH (taken before the Storm) Several weeks before D-DAY. There are pictures from (29) Officers including Lt Atkins which was the 107th Squadron Commander & Col Peck which was the Group Commander. There are pictures from (3) Officers that were Killed In Action. Those Officers are Lt Raymond J Doyle, Lt Warren G Moxley & Lt Charles J Smith. There are pictures from (2) Officers that have confirmed Enemy Aircraft Destroyed which are Lt Holland & Lt Keating. The 107th Reconnaissance Squadron has EXTENSIVE History. In December 1943, the 107th became the first operational photographic reconnaissance squadron in Northern Europe. In preparation for the Allied invasion on D-Day, the squadron flew missions over the French coast and was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation for its efforts. Assigned to support the First U.S. Army during the Normandy Campaign, the 107th was the first reconnaissance unit to operate from French soil.
